A catch-all email mailbox receives messages sent to non-existent email addresses under the same domain. For example, an email sent to the mistyped suport@domain.com will go to support@domain.com if the catch-all feature has been activated for the latter. In this way, you can receive emails from mates or customers who may have sent a message to your email address with a spelling mistake or to an old one, which they may still have, but you have already deleted. Just one single mailbox per domain can be a catch-all one and email forwarding cannot be activated for such a mailbox. This is so because of the fact that at a certain point you may start receiving spam emails in the catch-all mailbox and the forwarding restriction means that the spam will not be received in a third-party mailbox.
Catch-all Emails in Hosting
In case you host a domain on our cloud hosting platform and you’ve got a hosting account, you will be able to activate the catch-all functionality for any mailbox that you create under the domain name. The Email Manager section of the Hepsia hosting Control Panel includes quite a few functions, but it’s unbelievably easy to use, so creating a catch-all mailbox takes only one click. All the email addresses that you have set up will be listed in this section in alphabetical order and you will just need to click the "Catch-all" button associated with the concrete address. Our system will warn you if there is already another catch-all mailbox activated for that domain or if the one that you would like to be a catch-all mailbox has email forwarding enabled, so you can either deactivate the latter feature or pick a different mailbox. Disabling the catch-all feature is just as simple and requires one more mouse click on the same button.
Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers
The in-house built Hepsia hosting Control Panel that is included with each semi-dedicated server plan that we are offering will allow you to set up a catch-all e-mailbox without effort even in case you do not have much web/email hosting experience. All you need to do to accomplish that is click on the catch-all icon, which will be next to each mailbox that you have created using your domain names in the hosting Control Panel’s Email Manager section. Since you can have just one mailbox with this feature per domain name, our system will let you know if you have already set up a different catch-all mailbox or if the one that you want to use has email forwarding activated. If you reach the decision that you don’t want the feature any longer, you can disable it by clicking again on the very same icon. The Email Manager section will also allow you to view your catch-all mailboxes at a glance.
