FTP Accounts
Understand more about what FTP actually is, what it does and what is the benefit of having multiple FTP Accounts.
FTP stands for File Transfer Protocol – a quite popular method of sending files between a home PC and a server. Using an FTP client program such as FileZilla or CuteFTP, you can make a connection to the server and see its content in one pane, whereas the files on your computer will be displayed in another pane within the main program window. All you’ll need to do to send files or whole directories in either direction is to select them and then to drag them from one pane to the other. File Transfer Protocol is preferred by plenty of users because you can set up different FTP accounts and each one can be restricted to access just one folder on the server, so a designer, for instance, can do their job without being able to view any other directory in your website hosting account. In addition, the presence of different FTP accounts will also allow you to create multiple sites with web design applications such as Dreamweaver or FrontPage and to upload them to their respective directories on the server.

FTP Accounts in Hosting
You’ll be able to set up as many FTP accounts as you want with any of the Linux hosting service that we offer, since we’ve chosen not to limit this service. Thus, you can manage multiple websites all at once or provide other individuals with access to multiple directories. As soon as a given task has been completed and you wouldn’t like that person to be able to connect to your website files any longer, you can update the password associated with the particular FTP account or you can just remove that account with a few clicks and quit worrying about anyone connecting to it once more. The Hepsia Control Panel, which is included with all website hosting packages, will allow you to see the full list of the active FTP accounts listed alphabetically. It takes just one click of the mouse to manage different options for any of them – to edit the password or the access path, to download an auto-configuration file, etc.
- FTP Accounts in Semi-dedicated Servers
You’ll be able to access your semi-dedicated server account via FTP irrespective of the plan that you’ve selected during the registration process, since the FTP access is one of the default features that you’ll be able to make use of. All our plans include an unlimited FTP account quota, so you will be able to create as many FTP accounts as you need via the Hepsia Control Panel with which you will be able to manage your web content as well. All the FTP accounts will be listed alphabetically in the Control Panel and in case you do not need a particular account any longer, you can just delete it and block persons who have used it before from connecting to it again. The latter option is especially useful if you use the services of a developer or in case an IT individual quits the firm and you do not want them to connect to the web files anymore. An in-depth Help database that comprises educational video clips will help you manage your FTP accounts in case you have no previous experience.- FTP Accounts in VPS Servers
With a VPS server from us, you will be given the opportunity to create an unlimited number of FTP accounts to access your website content. This is valid for all Virtual Private Server configurations, irrespective of the hosting Control Panel that you’ve selected during the subscription procedure – Hepsia, DirectAdmin or cPanel. Depending on your needs, you can create a separate FTP account for every site or a number of FTP accounts with access to a certain folder – if you wish to allow different persons to be able to access that folder using their very own set of sign-in credentials. Even if you have never opened a hosting account previously or if you’ve got experience only with a shared one, you will not have any problems creating, deleting or modifying any FTP account on the Virtual Private Server, as everything is done via a simple-to-work-with web-based interface and takes only a couple of mouse clicks. - FTP Accounts in Semi-dedicated Servers
